Demonstration unit capable of being used as a DC motor (shunt and series) and AC/DC generator.
Mounted on a plastic base there is a stator made of ferromagnetic sheet, painted half red and half blue, giving the possibility of visualizing the magnetic field in the case of DC power supply. The stator contains two coils built into the model to generate a magnetic field; one of the leads of these coils is permanently connected, making the connection of the solenoids in series. Sockets for supplying power to this solenoid are located on top of the stator.
Inside the stator there is an axle with a rotor attached: a coil wound in the form of a rectangle measuring 14 cm x 7 cm and wrapped with insulating tape, also in two colors: blue and red.
At the back of the model, a crank is screwed onto the axle, and at the front there is a commutator that allows you to change the type of operation (DC or AC). The commutator is touched on both sides by metal brushes connected to sockets for spade plugs. Electric brushes can move along the guide rail. This function is provided to adjust their position in which they make the best contact with the commutator. The motor and generator model is approximately 23 cm high, 26 cm wide and 17 cm deep.
