Quality spectrum tubes that are widely used with spectroscopes and spectrometers, or simply with diffraction gratings, to show the characteristic spectral lines of various substances. Consists of glass tube with overall length of 23 cm with capillary portion about 8-10 cm long to concentrate the discharge glow. Glass-to-metal seal wires are welded in metal end caps.
These tubes can be operated in standard spectrum tube power supplies of the type such as the catalog Item No. 28-548400, as shown in photo. For intermittent use only, not to be used as a lamp source.
NOTE: Expected life of spectrum tubes will vary depending on the gas they contain. If the tubes are used as recommended and not allowed to overheat, the useful life, or time it takes to detect contamination with the usual measuring equipment is very long.
