Product Overview
Chlorite is a metamorphic mineral that has undergone light alteration. During metasomatism, phyllosilicate minerals may become hydrated and form chlorite. The greener color and near-soapy feel of chlorite distinguishes it from other phyllosilicates at a glance, and the presence of water distinguishes it chemically. This sample is ideal for lessons on metamorphism, mineral alteration, as well as general identification and classification exercises.
While each specimen will vary slightly in shape, size and color, it will measure approximately 1" in length. Pack of 12. Each set is packaged in a transparent bag, labeled & barcoded for easy identification and storage.
