Composed of bone and shell fragments, coquina is nearly 100% fossil matter. Held together by a carbonate cement, this skeletal mass forms in low-energy environments such as lagoons and reefs. Ideal for identification & classification exercises. Great for lessons in sedimentary facies, paleontology, or stratigraphy.
While each specimen will vary slightly in shape, size and color, it will measure approximately 1" in length. Pack of 12. Each set is packaged in a transparent bag, labeled & barcoded for easy identification and storage.
