Phyllite is a good example of low-grade metamorphism from an easily recognizable parent rock. The fissile property of slate is retained, but has attained a glossy sheen and soapy feel more indicative of metamorphic material. Ideal for identification & classification exercises. Demonstrates characteristic metamorphic properties, such as a glossy sheen and dense, foliated minerals.
While each specimen will vary slightly in shape, size and color, it will measure approximately 1" in length. Pack of 12. Each set is individually packaged, labeled & barcoded for easy identification and storage
