Product Overview
Wire gauze with ceramic center is primarily used in science laboratories as a flame shield. It is placed on the support ring that is attached to the laboratory stand or tripod, between the Bunsen burner and a beaker or flask with liquid for heat to be dispersed more evenly during heating.
The gauze is made of galvanized iron wire, woven 10 mesh, with turned edges to prevent fraying. The ceramic center is permanently enmeshed under high pressure to eliminate peeling.
Note: The ceramic fiber center contains a small quantity of organic binder which may temporary produce a small flame and/or small amount of smoke when first heated.
