Interference fringes can easily be seen when this device is viewed in sunlight, fluorescent light, or a monochromatic light. A plano-convex lens of long focal length and a flat glass disk are held with the curved and plane surfaces pressed together producing a very thin circular wedge. The plastic frame with its three adjusting screws is 50 mm in diameter, and the aperture is 30 mm.
