Product Overview
This Air Core Solenoid is designed for investigating the magnetic field of a long coil and for use as an accessory with a Current Balance to measure the force on a conductor in a magnetic field. The solenoid is wound with approximately 560 turns of 16-gauge copper wire on a durable plastic tube, with 77+ turns per layer.
It can safely carry 5 A continuously or up to 10 A intermittently, making it suitable for a wide range of electricity and magnetism experiments. The solenoid features a 5.5 cm internal diameter (approx. 2.5") core, with brass binding posts on both end plates for secure electrical connections.
