This classic air core solenoid is wound with enamelled copper wire on a heat-resistant plastic former and is designed to stand vertically on the bench for experimental setups. It features durable, spin-free 4mm insulated terminals for safe and convenient connections via banana plugs or wires.
Commonly used in conjunction with other physics apparatus such as the Mass of Electron, Current Balance, and Hall Effect experiments, this solenoid provides a reliable and uniform magnetic field. It is also suitable for magnetizing and demagnetizing materials, or for other general-purpose solenoid applications.
The spool houses approximately 710 turns of 23 AWG insulated copper wire. End plates are fitted with brass binding posts for a robust and secure connection.
