Product Overview
This highly sensitive electroscope can detect the charges a regular electroscope cannot. It uses gold foil as the leaf, a sturdy plastic case with front and rear glass windows, and a thick Teflon bushing for insulating the central knob. A graduated scale is provided for measuring the deflection from 0 to 90 degrees. Leaf support rod is held in place by an insulating Teflon bushing. A single piece of gold leaf (mounted at the factory) hangs from the support rod. Ground terminal eliminates deflections caused by charges residing in the case. Replacement gold leaves available in packs of 3.
Electroscope is supplied complete with an interchangeable conducting sphere and low leakage capacitor plate on a 4 mm banana plug which fits into the top of the leaf support rod. For demonstrating the capacitor action you need the electrophorus kit.
