The Spark Ignition Apparatus is designed to demonstrate how the internal combustion in car engines provides energy to drive the car. This is often used in combination with the catalog Item No. G-692000 Fire Syringe which demonstrates how a diesel engine works in comparison.
The demonstration is normally prefaced with a discussion about how the internal combustion engine works describing mixing gasoline with air to form a gas through carburetion and the cycle of the engine through induction, compression, ignition, and exhaust. The Spark Ignition Apparatus simulates the carburetion and ignition strokes.
