Product Overview
These small, inexpensive plastic compasses are ideal for tracing/plotting magnetic field lines of bar and horseshoe magnets. Students can map the magnetic field on paper by drawing lines from the direction of the compass needle. The needle is of flat steel, 16 mm long, supported by metal cap bearing, and enclosed in a plastic case with transparent cover. Each compass has a diameter of 20 mm and is approx. 8 mm thick.
Because these compasses are air damped, there's no liquid, no leaking, and no air bubbles to worry about.
