These inexpensive plastic compasses are ideally suited for experiments in the field of magnetism. The needle is of flat steel, 33 mm long, well balanced, and supported by metal cap bearing. The plastic case is 45 mm in diameter, 12 mm thick, with a transparent cover. The dial shows cardinal points, and its circle is graduated to 5-degree divisions for more accurate readings.
