Magnetic Field Visualization Kit – Current Carrying Conductors with Iron Filings
This set provides a clean, safe, and effective way to visualize magnetic fields around current-carrying conductors. The kit includes three coils of different shapes, each passing through a transparent base plate filled with silicone oil. High-quality iron filings are suspended in the oil, allowing for clear visualization of magnetic lines of force.
When connected to a low-voltage DC power source, the current flowing through each coil causes the iron filings to align along the magnetic field lines, clearly illustrating the field pattern. The viscous oil ensures the filings stay in place even after the current is turned off, making it easier for students to observe and analyze the field.
