Product Overview
This device is a convenient and clean way to visualize magnetic lines of force that are generated around permanent magnets. Comprises a rectangular plate made of clear acrylic which is filled with silicone oil and has high quality iron filings freely suspended inside. Placing a magnet over or under the device makes the filings align along the magnetic lines of force. The viscous oil holds the filings in place for a while after the magnet is removed, making observation and sketching easier. Dimensions (w × d × h): 220 × 120 × 12 mm. Each device comes with a pair of steel bar magnets and single U-shaped magnet.
