Product Overview

This self-contained apparatus is used to demonstrate force on a conductor carrying a current in a uniform magnetic field and to investigate semi-quantitatively the factors which determine the magnitude of this force. When electric current is supplied to the copper conductor frame suspended in the gap of a permanent magnet, the opposing magnetic fields cause the frame to deflect. A long pointer is used to magnify this effect and graduated scale is provided to measure magnitude of the deflection.

In this apparatus, the magnetic field strength is changed by adjusting the magnet gap; full or 1/2 length of the conductor can be used by connecting power supply to the respective terminals; electric current passed through the conductor can be varied according to setting of power supply or number of D-cells connected together.

You need a variable power source such as multiple D-cells in holders or a low voltage power supply.
