Short and Long Wave fluorescent kit. This expanded collection allows a study in detail of the response of these minerals to the range of ultraviolet rays. The 15 specimens are approximately 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" and are number coded. Grades 6+, Ages 11+.
Our collections require the use of short wave (peaking at 366nm) or long wave (254nm) fluorescent light, which can be purchase online through various companies. The Fluorescent Minerals Society’s website, www.uvminerals.org, is a good resource about fluorescence.
