Diisobutyl Ketone (DIBK) is a high-boiling, slow-evaporating ketone solvent with excellent solvency for a wide range of resins. It is extensively used in industrial coatings, particularly for nitrocellulose, vinyl resins, and acrylics, providing good flow, leveling, and blush resistance. Its balanced evaporation rate makes it suitable for baking finishes and high-solids coatings. DIBK also finds applications in printing inks and as a chemical intermediate.
