Product Overview
The apparatus can be used to give a convincing demonstration of the anomalous expansion behavior of water freezing. It consists of a cast iron bottle with a tapered thread to take a square-shanked iron stopper.
The bottle is filled with water and placed in a plastic beaker packed with ice and salt mixture. After approximately two minutes, a loud crack will be heard indicating that the bottle has shattered.
