Product Overview

This Photogate Timer has been developed to precisely measure time in many kinematic experiments. Designed to be used with dynamics tracks, constant velocity carts, pendulums and free fall apparatus, the timer has a range up to 1000 seconds and measures time to 0.0001 seconds.

The time is displayed on a large backlit LCD screen in units of ms or s. You can measure the time it takes to pass through one photogate, measure the time interval between two photogates, measure acceleration of a dropped ball, determine the acceleration due to gravity with a picket fence, measure elastic and inelastic collision times, determine the frequency of a rotating object, and determine the period of a pendulum.

Functions have up to 20 data points stored in memory for recall after the experiment. The timer has a built-in battery and can be used with or without a power adaptor. Included with the timer are two sets of photogates with support rods, a magnetic ball drop, steel ball, all connecting electrical cords, and power adapter.

Power adapters supplied with this device have been tested, investigated and found to comply with the requirements of the Standard(s) for Power Supplies with Extra Low Voltage Class 2 Outputs (CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 223) and are identified with the cETL Listed Mark.
