Product Overview
A device for demonstrating the rates of heat conduction in 5 different metals. Rods of Copper, Brass, Steel, Aluminum, and Nickel extend in a star-shaped configuration from a brass hub. Each rod has a cavity at the outer end for holding paraffin wax (included) or a match head. Heating the brass hub in a Bunsen flame will cause wax to melt (or the match head to ignite) in the cavities of different metals at different times, implying their different thermal conductivities. Fitted with a steel supporting rod ending in a wooden handle.
