For demonstrating movement in liquid currents caused by differences in temperature. Consists of a rectangular-shaped glass tube, dimensions (h × w): 200 × 170 mm, and 15 mm O.D., with an opening at the top for the introduction of water. In use, a dye or cork dust is placed in the water. When the lower part at one corner is heated, convection currents are set up in the water; the movement of the dye or cork dust makes the currents readily visible.
