The external and internal anatomy of an adult grasshopper is depicted by this large model. Important structures on the side showing the exterior are the three legs, the antenna, the wings, mouth parts, spiracles, eyes, ovipositor, and the segmentation of the head, thorax, and abdomen. A section of the abdomen is cut away to reveal the respiratory system. The interior shows the digestive, circulatory, excretory, nervous, and reproductive systems. The legs are removable for close examination or for convenience in storage. Overall dimensions (h×w×d): 38.5×62×20.5 cm. It is made of PVC finished in lifelike colors on the exterior and differentiating colors in the interior. The model is securely mounted on a flat plastic base.
